Conjugated Dienes: 1,2 and 1,4 Electrophilic Addition Reaction

Electrophilic addition reaction of dienes has been described in this video. These types of reactions can produce two different products. 1,2- addition and 1,4- addition. 1,2- addition reaction is kinetic control and it happens at lower temperature (normally below zero Celsius). 1,4- addition reaction is thermodynamic control and it favors more product when the reaction performs at higher temperature. The product for 1,4-addition is more stable.
