While 1984 was 'much ado about Martina', Chrissie showed she was playing plenty of top tier tennis as well, albeit as the world #2 ~ In these clips, she is enjoying the added power in the newly-acquired graphite racket, seen here in only her 2nd event using the Wilson Pro Staff. Understandably she was a little tight about using the new racket during such a major event as the Virginia Slims Championships in Madison Square Garden ~ but WTA chair official Lee Jackson grabs Chrissie's hand at the end to try to make her laugh & chill out. Mary Carillo & Steve Flink are also in a playful mood in the commentary booth.
