This watercolour demonstration painting of a pheasant shows how to use watercolours effectively with hints and tips for beginners and experienced painters alike. In this video you will see how I use thin washes, working from the lightest light to the darkest dark, to produce a bright and pleasing watercolour image. You can learn a lot about using watercolours by copying and practicing from this picture and others that I will be posting over the coming months. At the end of the painting you will see me using a rigger brush for a dry brush technique and watercolour spatter for a dynamic finish.
