Wendy Dawes (Stress management consultant from Walsall, West Midlands) versus Julie Hall (Family funeral director and digger from Southwell, Nottinghamshire)

Eddie McFarlane (Aerobics instructor from Dublin, Ireland) versus Brian Doamekpor (Assistant restaurant manager from Bromley, London)

Notes: From this series onwards, this is a new event format where some of the events are split into one event for all Gladiators and contenders by gender, meaning the women will play easier events, whilst the men play harder or difficult events. 5 events are increased back to 6 events, plus the Eliminator at the end, meaning only 1 of the 5 numbered events is split into one event each for men and women. In split event, Whiplash is for the women and Duel is for the men, which is meant to be for all men and women as a whole event.

New Event: Tightrope.

New Gladiator cast members: Presenter: Jeremy Guscott (England rugby union player) as a replacement for John Fashanu and timekeeper: Eugene Gilkes as a replacement for Andrew Norgate.

New Gladiators: Fox, Rocket, Siren, and Khan.
