Home style Murukku Recipe:
To Grind:
Raw Rice (soaked) (IR20) - 1 kg
Dry Red Chilli Flakes - 10 nos
Water - ½ Cup (125ml) + 250ml

Other Ingredients:
Pottu Kadalai (powdered) - 500 g
Black Sesame Seeds - 3 tsp
Ajwain - 2 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 tsp
Butter (soft) - 30 g
Salt  - 2 ½ tsp
Oil - For Deep Frying

Instructions:
1. Wash and soak the rice for 4 hours
2. Add the red chilli flakes and soaked rice to the friner with ½ cup of water and grind it to a fine consistency
3. Transfer the batter to a bowl and add the remaining ingredients and mix it till a smooth dough is formed.
4. Grease a murukku press with oil and stuff it with the dough.
5. Heat oil in a kadai
6. Press the dough onto a greased ladle and gently dunk it into the hot  oil.
7. Fry till golden brown and crispy and take it out of the oil.
