This is what we train for… It’s not about the ‘beach body’ or beauty standards, it’s a health first approach where you can be strong to be useful & have access to your fitness when needed. And we never know ‘when’ that might be. Nobody plans for accidents or misfortune but guaranteed that every person will experience them at some point. It might seem like a fitness goal to train moves that improve your pulling or pushing strength but what if you needed that strength unexpectedly? Manually Raising the main sail was only possible by me having trained to build muscles, power & endurance. Carrying a 20L oil canister up a plank & lift it into a storage space was only possible from training balance, grip strength, & again more strength. An age positive mindset & adventures go hand in hand. And it simply feels good when someone asks you ‘can you do x,y,z?’ And you can say YES! Train for the adventures in life, whether it’s carrying your own shopping bags, lifting your luggage into the overhead compartment or being able to step up & help when needed. We can build muscles into very old age (our 90s & research showed even at 104!) so no matter where you’re at & feeling right now, it’s not too late & there are SO many ways to move & build strength & confidence.
