The Track of Hurricane Walaka (2018)

Originally scheduled to coincide with the 4th anniversary of the storm, but got pushed back due to tropical cyclone activity.

Hurricane Walaka in 2018 was a powerful Category 5 storm which peaked in an unusual place in the World. It peaked in the Central Pacific basin, which on record has only seen a few Category 5 hurricanes. Walaka took place within the very busy 2018 Pacific Hurricane Season, that season being one of the most active both in named storms and Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE).

Unfortunately, Walaka did bring impacts to some islands out to sea, some of those islands were unrecognizable after the passage of Walaka. Our analysis team has reviewed the storm and the data available, and our latest analysis is now here in the Track of Hurricane Walaka 2018.
