A tropical disturbance is starting to take shape in the main development region of the Atlantic, and is expected to pass through the Leeward Islands later this week. Computer models are suggesting that a tropical storm could impact Florida this weekend or early next week. In the Eastern Pacific, the season may be finally about to kick into a higher gear, with three areas of interest active. A tropical disturbance off the coast of southern Mexico is expected to become a substantial tropical storm, and may become a hurricane as it pushes west-northwestwards, loosely following the path of Bud. Another storm behind it may form this weekend or next week and could become a powerful hurricane. In the Western Pacific, a weak tropical disturbance is throwing another small plume of rainfall over Taiwan, near where Gaemi made landfall last week. Another area of interest could develop well out to sea, around 800 miles from the International Date Line.
