Tatra trams of type T4D have been typical of Leipzig's tram system for several decades. Those tram cars that are still in regular operation today have been put on the rails in 1984 as type T4D and have been modernized later. Meanwhile less and less trains are in regular service. The most recent tram type at Leipzig is NGT10 built by Solaris. Now they are produced by Stadler Polska. Since the autumn of 2021 Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) get more trains of this type. They are delivered to Leipzig one by one. So less and less Tatra trains are in service. Original Tatra trailers are no longer in operation at Leipzig. Trains are running with low-floor NB4 trailers. They were built at Cegielski in Poznan, Poland, in the years 2000 and 2001. So LVB can offer low-floor access although the motor cars are classical high-floor trams. Good places to watch these trains are the loop at Paunsdorf-Nord and the line between Paunsdorf-Nord and  Paunsdorf tram yard, e.g. close to the water tower. In early 2022, the best chances to see Tatra trains were on lines 8, 7, and 3. LVB owns several trains for special purpose, like a panoramic motor car, motor cars for use with a snow plough, or a driving school car.
