Quality control of parenteral product ar every important and essential. The parenteral product is that product which is directly administered to the systemic circulation. These are so sensitive and important that any foreign particle may damage the health condition, so their evaluation and testing are very much important.
The Basic quality control tests which are performed on sterile parenteral products include:-
1) Sterility Tests.
2) Pyrogen Tests.
3) Leaker Tests.
4) Particulate matter testing.
Evaluation of parenteral product includes various procedure, and in today video we have explained the procedure for clarity testing of ampules. In visual inspection, each injectable is inspected visually against white and black backgrounds. The white background aids in the diction of dark-coloured particles. The light or reflective particles will appear against the black background. Some visual-enhancing aids can increase efficiency. A magnifying lens at 2.5 × magnification set at the eye level facilitates the inspection. Microscopic examination enhances detection of particulate matter in injectables. The visual inspection gives the qualitative estimation of the particulate matter. Acceptance Standards is that each container checked must not contain any visible particulate matter.
