Ep 62: Medieval Law [feat. Mireille Pardon]

In this episode, we are joined with Dr. Mireille Pardon to discuss the development and implementation of medieval law and jurisprudence, the relationship between the secular and ecclesial authorities in matters of law, as well as some popular misconceptions that some may have today regarding law and jurisprudence in the Middle Ages.

Dr. Pardon is an assistant professor in the history department, specializing in “violence, social control, and judicial ritual in late medieval and early modern Europe.” Dr. Pardon completed her undergraduate degree in history at Princeton University and immediately completed her M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in history from Yale University.
