I'm experimenting with my watercolour paints and a Pigma Micron fine liner pen and a little fine table salt for texture.
I start off by sketching the scene, inking in the linework, and masking the flowers with masking fluid to preserve the white paper. I then paint an expressive cloudy sky and suggest the chalk bank using the wet in wet technique and a sprinkle of salt for texture. Once dry, I remove the masking fluid and paint the flowers.
I use cerulean blue, raw sienna, burnt umber and sienna, opera rose, sap green and perylene green.
My board is at an angle of about 45 degrees tilt.
I use various brushes, see video, but use whichever equipment and materials you are most comfortable with. My paper is 100% cotton Saunders Waterford, cold pressed. Thanks for watching, and happy painting!
