💫 Refine data with the FILTER Function in Excel

Most of us are used to using drop-down menus to filter a dataset in Excel.

However, there are some drawbacks to refining data this way. Filter drop-downs can only filter data in place, we can’t output the results to any cell. Filter drop-downs also hide rows that don’t match the filter criteria.

Instead, we can use the NEW Filter function. The Filter function can output filter results to any cell in a spreadsheet and we can combine it with other functions to maximise its usefulness.
