Gold recovery from transistors using the lead bath method: transistors are placed in a graphite crucible, heated and then 90Pb10Ag alloy is added. After heating for some time the PbAgAu is drained in mould and the stripped transistors are replaced with new ones. The process is repeating until the gold is stripped from all transistors. When complete the PbAgAu alloy is cupelled removing the lead and any other impurities. Now we are left with AgAu alloy called dore. To part the gold and the silver we are digesting the dore in nitric acid. Now we are left with gold residue wich is dissolved in aqua regia. The solution is the de-NOx-ed with sulphamic acid and filtered. The gold is precipitated with solution of SMB, washed in concentrated HCl and distilled water, finally melted and weighed
