GOLD recovery from BIG transistors

1kg big old transistors were washed in molten lead with added silver. The lead cake was then cupelled, and the resulting dore was digested in nitric acid. The gold residue was dissolved in premixed aqua regia. Solution was de-NOx-ed using sulphamic acid, diluted with water and filtered. The gold was precipitated with potassium hydroxide and oxalic acid. Gold sponge is boiled in concentrated hydrochloric acid and distilled water. Melting...
