STORYLINE:
The guerrilla group Hezbollah has been demonstrating a show of force in the disputed Chebaa Farms area in southern Lebanon.
The Islamic liberation movement says the territory is still occupied, despite the withdrawal of Israeli troops in May last year.
A bitter border dispute between Lebanon and the Israelis is still going on as the first anniversary of Israel's withdrawal approaches.
The so-called Blue Line, established after the Israeli withdrawal, still left undecided the fate of the disputed Chebaa Farms area on the eastern edge of the 96-kilometre (60-mile) line.
Israel captured the territory in the 1967 Arab-Israeli war when it took the Golan Heights from Syria.
It annexed the Golan in December 1981 - a move not recognized internationally.
Syria and Lebanon say the Chebaa Farms area is Lebanese and should be returned.
The United Nations says the territory belongs to Syria and should be part of Syrian-Israeli negotiations.
The U-N regards the territory as "occupied land."
