For doing this, we have to take the help of an MRI scan so that we understand what is the severity of the damage to the capsule. Usually, the inferior capsule and the anterior capsule will be torn and this is known as Bankart Lesion..
When the head goes in front like shown, the bone gets damaged and this is known as Hill-Sachs lesion. If MRI shows these findings, many a times we suggest the patient to undergo surgical repair of this part so that the results will be good and further dislocation chances will be reduced..
