This story of Yama and Nachiketa belongs to the Katha Upanishad. A young lad named Nachiketa sees his father Uddalaka donating old and useless cows to the Brahmin purohits and becomes sad. He asks his father whom is he going donate him? Angry Uddalaka answers that he is donating him to Yama, the god of death.
This is the first part of the long story, in which Nachiketa reaches Yamaloka.
