I was recently gifted a
I was recently gifted a 1937 WFL 15x12 Separate
Tension Corpsman Field/Parade Snare Drum.
It had its original hardware except for tension
rods and claws and had been modified by adding
lugs from a 1937 WFL Dixieland snare. It was
built in the Ludwig factory at 1728 N Damen Ave
in Chicago. I walked by that building many times
when I lived in Chicago (it's now condos) and never
imagined I'd one day refurbish a drum built there
in 1937. Here's how I did it.
