When you can't get to the gym, plyometric training is a great workout for fully engaging your muscles and a top workout for beginners.
In this video Jason Sani from the TestoFuel team shows us his top exercises for a Full Body Plyometric Workout for Beginners.
Plyometric Workouts are explosive exercises that are also described as 'Jump Training'.
They're great for:
• Strength – Explosive Power
• Muscle Mass – Dense, Strong Muscle
• Testosterone – Increases T-Production
• Growth Hormone – Increases Recovery and Size
In this workout Jason recommends doing 10 sets of all 3 exercises, starting at 10 reps on each exercise reducing it by a rep each set.
These are the top exercises that Jason recommends:
Exercise #1: Jump Squats
Muscles worked:
• Quads
• Hamstrings
• Glutes
• Core
Instructions:
• Stand with feet shoulder-width apart
• Bend legs outwards, get low into squatting pose
• Press off the ground into the air
• Land softly back into the squat
• Repeat
Exercise #2: Lunge Jumps
Muscles worked:
• Quads
• Hamstrings
• Hip Flexors
Instructions:
• Stand with feet staggered, one behind the other
• Bend your front knee to a 90 degree angle and your back knee directly under you
• Push off the ground into the air and switch feet positions, land into a lunging position
• Push off again, changing your feet back to the original lunging position
• Repeat
Exercise #3: Plyo Push-Ups
Muscles worked:
• Chest
• Shoulders
• Triceps
• Back
Instructions:
• Enter the regular push-up position
• Bend your arms and go deep into the push-up
• Press off the ground with your palms into the air
• Land back into the original position
• Repeat
For a harder challenge, why not try and perform a clap with your hands while off the ground?
