We spent 3 days exploring
We spent 3 days exploring the weird and wonderful city of Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and found it absolutely fascinating.
The White marble city is unlike any other in Central Asia. More like a wealthy Gulf state oil city with spotlessly clean buildings, golden monuments and state of the art transportation systems.
Travelling on a budget and with the black market rate for the Turkmen manat at 19 to $1 we found Ashgabat to be an incredibly cheap City to visit. Buses and entrances into the monuments were next to nothing!
This is a snippet of the 3 days we spent there. The amazing places we saw and a few tips on how to get around this unique city.
It is a bizarre and surreal experience to walk the empty streets of Ashgabat and to wonder at what this place is all about!
