P&O Arcadia visits Montevideo. This
P&O Arcadia visits Montevideo. This video is from a cruise we did in 2016 on the P&O cruise ship Arcadia.
The cruise was out of Rio, around Cape Horn ending in Valparaiso. Montevideo was our first stop.
Strange to see a lot of scrap ships as we sailed into Montevideo. We opted for the town highlights and steam train excursion. After a look around the city, the coach took us to the railway station.
The locomotive #120 was built in Manchester in 1910 by Beyer Peacock & Co Ltd, It was on static display for over 30 years before being rescued by the Asociacion Uruguaya Amigos Del Riel ( AUAR). Restoration included conversion from coal firing to oil.
