NOTE: A detail left out of the video is that conventional deadlifts did actually have a similar increase in hip dominance with increased load.  However, trap bar deadlifts did not.  This leads me to believe that it is due to beginners picking a more realistic starting position for the trap bar, and that it's likely trainable (as mentioned in video) rather than an inevitable consequence of load.  See page 53 - https://bretcontreras.com/wp-content/...
