Discover the charm of Paris and the historic allure of Mont Saint-Michel in our Pilgrimage Vlog's sixth episode. Join us as we set sail on the Bateau-Mouche, an open boat navigating the Seine River, offering a unique perspective on Paris’s iconic landmarks.
The following day unfolded with a captivating day trip to the Mont Saint-Michel Abbey, a French historical monument since 1862 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Originally an oratory erected by Bishop Saint Aubert of Avranches, its inception was marked by messages from Saint Michael during Saint Aubert’s three visionary dreams.
As our journey continued, we immersed ourselves in the heart of Paris, exploring renowned sites like the Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, and Les Invalides. Our visit also extended to the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, where Saint Catherine Labouré encountered the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1830.
The pinnacle of our pilgrimage was reached on the last day with the solemn celebration of mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Montmartre. This expiatory church, proposed by Bishop Felix Fournier of Nantes in 1870, stands as a testament to the French people's collective journey toward redemption, seeking to atone for the moral decline following the French Revolution.

#WorldYouthDay (WYD) is a global gathering with the Pope organized by the Catholic Church, occurring approximately every three years in different countries. Originating from the vision of Pope John Paul II, the inaugural event took place in 1984 in Rome, attracting a staggering 250 thousand #youths from diverse corners of the globe—far surpassing the anticipated 60 thousand attendees.
Despite the official registration of only 350,000 pilgrims for World Youth Day 2023 in #Lisbon, the actual attendance is believed to have surpassed expectations, possibly reaching as high as 1.5 million youth. All nations worldwide are represented, except for the Maldives, as stated by the organizers.
The upcoming Jubilee of Young People is set for July 28, 2025, in Rome, serving as a bridge between WYD 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal, and WYD 2027 in Seoul, South Korea.
