The lunge is another underappreciated movement that has a huge number of benefits for athletes or the average Joe.

One of the most obvious benefits of lunges is that they are essentially a one-legged movement but with added support. This makes the movement more suitable for beginners, while offering many of the same benefits. Those benefits include: more stability, strength gains via the bilateral deficit, and more obvious near-transfer to sports and other activities.
