The Morenci Turquoise mine was famous for its gorgeous true blue turquoise. The mine is also famous for the pyrite matrix (silver-looking matrix) which is one of the standards of the mine. Nothing is more beautiful than a sky blue Turquoise with silver hued iron pyrite matrix, or the rare golden pyrite matrix. The mine produce a wide variety of hues of turquoise from clear sky blue to spider web to aqua blue green stones. Gems from this mine were a staple in American Indian Jewelry made by all tribes including Navajo Jewelry, Zuni, etc. Today this beautiful classic turquoise is hard to find, as the mine has been closed for many, many, many years. Ultra high-grade material from this mine as with most mines was always scarce, and today is rarer than elephant wings.

In this video I am using these specific colors, you can vary a bit the colors and even throw in a bit of green. Turquoises are not all of the same color. Also, remember, for this technique you need SOFT clays like Premo or Cernit. Fimo, Kato and Pardo won't work properly.
