Do Porsche 911 991 Targa prices develop more favourable than Carrera prices? That’s what we will find out in this video. The Targa model is relatively rare and has a high desirability factor. Hereby it has all the factors that might drive a favourable price development.

We start with a market overview to get familiar with Targa market. Among other things, this shows us that the Targa is a rare model and that prices are high. Also, we can see that the Targa S and GTS are mor popular than the base variant. After this we transition into the depreciation per 1000 miles. This reveals that, with a rate of 0.7%, the Targa scores quite good. It’s on the low end of the scale and on par with a base 991 Carrera. Yet, when we look at the value development over time, we can see that the difference between the Carrera and Targa models is very small. Moreover, on an aggregate level the differences disappear. This highlights that they might be the result of chance. In the last six months prices even moved in parallel. Therefore, I don’t think it’s likely that the price development of a Targa differs significantly from the one of a Carrera. Nevertheless, we need to remember that we only looked at a few data points and to one generation.
