Jeff Jones showed up at GSL 2023 with a 1:8 scale scratch-built model of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's famous 1963 hot rod, the Mysterion. Jeff had already built a full-sized copy of the car and sold it, so wanted to build another one, this time a bit smaller!
Karyn and I fell in love with the model, first, it's a model of one of the most famous show cars built by our favorite builder of such things, Ed Roth. It was built in a very large 1/8 scale, also made popular at the same time Ed built the Mysterion (1963) when Monogram released the "Big T". The Big T was a major success for Monogram and started a trend in building hot rod models in large scale.
The GSL Model Car Championship was the most competitive model car contest in the world. And for the last ever GSL over 700 models were entered from all over the world.
