The Rising of the Shield
The Rising of the Shield Hero just gave us a look at Raphtalia's past and backstory with Rifana and Keel, and her chance at Revenge! When Raphtalia confronts Idol Rabier, the man that tortured her, Rifana, Keel, and countless other Demi Humans, she has the power to kill him and end her nightmares... yet she hesitates. The Rising of the Shield hero, in presenting Raphtalia's backstory, lets us examine what revenge and justice do for one's healing from past trauma.
