In this video I replace
In this video I replace the front brake pads and discs on my 2008 Smart Fortwo 451 Passion 84 BHP. There was a lip of corrosion around the inner and outer surfaces of the brake discs which was causing a speed related scraping noise when driving and when not applying the brakes.
I chose to fit replacement Bosch brake pads and Febi Bilstein brake discs (rotors if you are in the USA).
I took care to ensure that the surfaces where the brake pads contact the caliper carrier were very well prepared and used copper grease to ensure the pads can slide freely and not bind.
Upon completion of the work I made sure to pump the brake pedal until firm before driving.
In an earlier video I replaced the rear brake shoes, drums, wheel cylinders and changed the brake fluid/bled the braking system.
