Story of Tenzin | Episode 01 | Tenzin Nordon | An Initiative of Stories of Tibetans in Collaboration with V-TAG India I was born in India and moved to the United States at a young age. At that time, I could barely speak Tibetan, so when I arrived in the U.S., I had to learn both Tibetan and English. Despite growing up in a different environment and living in the U.S., I’ve always stayed close to the Tibetan community. Being Tibetan is an essential part of my identity. Participating in workshops, seminars, and meetings has deepened my understanding of the Tibetan cause and helped me become an activist. In 2008, I travelled to Tibet, which was an incredibly special experience. I still vividly remember the day I first set foot on Tibetan soil—a country that, until then, I had only known through stories and imagination. Giving back to the community has always been important to me. That’s why I’ve taken part in and even initiated several social service activities. I also had the opportunity to teach at TCV School for a month, which was a rewarding experience. As Tibetans, we all share the responsibility to advocate for the Tibetan cause and take initiatives that support our community. Story of Tenzin is an initiative by Stories of Tibetans in collaboration with V-TAG India.
