In this video Dr. Watson shows Finale users how to save tons of time when adding articulations and expressions (dynamics, etc.) to their scores by programming and using Metatools.
METATOOLS are programmable keyboard shortcuts for frequently used Finale tasks, such as adding articulations and expressions. In this video, Dr. W explains:
1) Using the Metatools already PRE-programmed in Finale.
2) Programming and using your own Metatools for articulations and expressions.
3) Quickly toggling between various Metatool-assigned articulations and expressions without opening those windows.
4) Mass-applying multiple articulations or expressions (to many notes) all at once.
5) Programming a Rehearsal Measure Number Metatool shortcut so that the measure number automatically updates itself to the correct measure number in a score (i.e. when the expression is moved to a different measure, or when measures are added/deleted from the score).
