1940's Weekend East Lancashire Railway 26/05/18

Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways

In this latest video from The East Lancashire Railway we are in 1940's theme with the railway's 1940's weekend.

Originally intending to be linesiding for much of the day but sadly the call came in that Great Central Railway based ex BR Built modified Hall 6990 Whitherslack Hall failed before she took her 1st train of the day to Heywood.

Also sadly not available was Llangollen Railway based ex GWR large Prairie 5199 which was undergoing repairs during my visit.

The 1st day ended up with a DMU, 2 diesels & just 1 steam locomotive which turned out to be the savior of the railway steam fleet ex BR built West Country 34092 City of Wells.

As a result the lineside filming at Burrs was cancelled. So It was decided to go 7 ride behind the Bulleid from Bury to Rawtenstall.

We start at Summerseat as we see the bulleid head off to Heywood.

Before later on we join 34092 on board from Bury for the trip to Rawtenstall which at Rawtenstall we end this video.
