This is a video for my trumpetherald friends... pretty geeky for anyone not into the different tones I can make from this horn. This horn is a 1956 Conn Victor 10A Long Cornet. It's shaped just like a trumpet but with different mouthpieces can make almost any tone... from thick huge lead sound to super dark flugel tones... It's a great horn!
I played the following mouthpieces on the horn... please note that I normally wouldn't switch as quickly and each piece sounds better when played by itself.
1. Wedge 5DC (semi-shallow)
2. Wedge 3C (pretty standard cup size)
3. Curry 2TC (hybrid cornet/flugelhorn cup for a neat mellow sound).
4. Denis Wick RW 3 (super deep)
Listen with headphones (and at HQ) for best results. Recorded on January 3, 2010 using a Flip Video camcorder.
