اخيقار الحكيم لم يكن مجرد وزيرا عاديا لملك اشور، فقد كان اخيقار يحسن المشورة ويصوغ الحكمة في قول موجز بليغ. كما انه وضع الكثير من الامثال التي لا تزال معظمها تتردد على السنة الناس حتى يومنا هذا.
Akhiqar the sage was not just an ordinary vizier of the king of Assyria, he was a good counsel and formulated wisdom in an eloquent concise. He also developed a lot of proverbs that are still most of them are still in circulation to this day.
