I love statistics, I enjoy the Videos about NBA statistics from JxmyHighroller a lot (if you also like basketball and don't know them yet, defintly check them out: 8 Unbelievable Charts That Will Chang...) and I am a huge fan of Lin Dan. After his retirment I quickly got the idea of making a video in the style of JymxHighroller about crazy stats you probably didn't know about the two time olympic champion!

EDIT: After so many requests I also did a video about the insane numbers of Lee Chong Wei and his career:
Lee Chong Wei’s Greatness in numbers: Lee Chong Wei's Greatness in Numbers!

--Overview-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here a short overview about the different sections and topics in the video:
0:00 The 5 Stars
0:50 Big Titles
2:54 Winning Percentage
3:58 Matches Played
5:45 Above 90% Wins
6:39 Winning Streaks
7:52 Outro

--How i got the numbers------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is not easy to make stats about badminton, as there is no tool or filter on tournamentsoftware or the BWF page to help you to get specific numbers about players other than their general win/loss ratio and their head to head statistic against other players. In the end it was a lot of scrolling and counting on tournamentsoftware to get to the numbers I present you in the video and here a few important things how I got to them:

- I only included individual tournaments for all stats
- I excluded walkovers and only included played matches for all statistics. - There are a few winning streaks in the 5th stat, where players didn’t compete at a tournament during their streak so you find a walkover on tournamentsoftware but I counted on, just like Momota in 2019.
- I only looked at players, that played during the last 3 decades, so they also had a chance to compete at the Olympics that where held since 1992.
- In stat nr. 1 of course there are a lot more players with big titles but I tried to choose big names from the past few years as well as the ones, with an outstanding amount of titles
- in stat 5 I haven't checked all successfull women singles players so maybe there are more with 24+ streaks but in general I think it is a quite rare thing overall. For example I was also checking Gideon/Sukamuljo but they never had a 20+ winning streak even though they are so dominant over the last couple of years

I had to do all the counting by hand, so I may have missed out on a few legends, that defintly deserve a spot in some of the stats.

Of course there are also very successful players in earlier years that would rank in that statistics but the more you look back the harder it is to compare players as the tournament calender changed and the sport became more and more professional over the last few decades. Players like Gillian Gilks or George Alan Thomas  for example won big titles in Singles, Doubles and Mixeddoubles, something that is absolutly impossible these days so in my eyes it is hard to make a comparison based on numbers with players from these early aeras.

--Shout out-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A big shoutout to @Badmintonstatistics, who are collecting and presenting a lot of Data about Badminton for quite a while now and just recently they published a lot of interessting stats about Lin Dan. My last two stats also refer to their research about winning percentage and winning streaks.
