Learn how to make an
Learn how to make an easy cold shoulder top in this step by step sewing project - no pattern needed! It's made with a stretch knit fabric so it's comfortable and easy to fit, you can make it with long or short sleeves, and the off shoulder cutouts add a nice detail to what would be a basic fitted t-shirt! This is a great project to practice learning how to sew stretchy fabric.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
-At least 1 yard of a stretchy knit fabric. I only had 2/3 yard of a 58” wide fabric (“Brushed Buffalo Plaid”; 91% polyester 9% spandex) but I used every bit of it and didn’t have enough for long sleeves, so if you want longer sleeves or a larger size, you'll want at least 1 yard.
FABRIC BUYING TIP: Avoid using a super lightweight stretch knit, especially if you’re new to sewing with knits, because they can be more challenging to sew. An even feed walking foot helps to hem more difficult fabrics.
-A fitted shirt with sleeves to use as a pattern/template (don’t worry, it won’t be cut up)

PS: Gosh, that red plaid fabric was tough to film! I didn’t realize it would create that weird optical illusion type effect on camera – but I still wanted to make the tutorial since I had put a lot of work into it already! :)
