Located in Northern Jordan, Jerash is a fusion of modern and ancient, but boasts some of the best-preserved Roman ruins outside of Italy.
Dating back thousands of years, the towering Hardian's Arch divides the old from the new.
The triple-arched gateway was built to honour the visit of Roman Emperor Hardian in 129-130 AD.
The Temple of Artemis pays homage to the city's patron Artemis, the goddess of fertility. Eleven beautifully carved columns mark the entrance and glow golden in the Jordanian sun.
