Lost in the desert. The Wadi Rum desert and Petra in Jordan are at the top of my list of the most spectacular places in the world. We spent two days and two nights here. What quickly catches the eye (or rather the ear) is the absence of sound. It's one of the few places in the world where there's absolute silence. A surreal experience. I highly recommend it, as currently there are very few tourists, and even just over a weekend you can see a lot. We stayed at the Aicha Bubble Camp. We managed to get the most remote bubble tent, so the view upon drawing the curtains was absurd. Like a weekend on Mars.

On-site, we had a guide who took us wherever we wanted, but he also cooked and showed elements of local culture, and even tricks such as plants from which you can quickly make hand soap in the desert.

The Wadi Rum Reserve is famous for its stunning desert landscape, spectacular sandstone mountains, desert valleys, canyons, dunes, and arches. It is also known as the Valley of the Moon. Wadi Rum has been used as a filming location in "Dune" (2021), "Lawrence of Arabia", "Prometheus", "The Martian", "Star Wars", and many other movies.

The Wadi Rum Reserve is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list (quote): "It features a varied desert landscape consisting of narrow gorges, natural arches, towering cliffs, ramps, massive landslides, and caverns. Petroglyphs, inscriptions, and archaeological remains in the site testify to 12,000 years of human occupation and interaction with the natural environment."

Recorded in October 2021, in 4K Ultra HD using Sony A1 and GoPro.
