Join this historic London tour through the original square mile of London and find out how it developed into the city it is today. For centuries, London consisted of a one square mile area surrounding St Paul's Cathedral. Today, this neighbourhood known as 'The City' of London, is a hive of activity, densely packed with history and bustling with business.
In our London city tour of the square mile, we explore this exciting historic London neighbourhood, visiting several landmarks and historic attractions and dig deeper to understand their significance in London's history.
Our tour begins exploring the Church of St. Clement Danes, the original Twinings store, the Temple Bar Monument and Royal Courts of Justice, and the sacred Temple Church. Then we make our way to Fleet Street where we learn about St. Dunstan Church and the Great Fire of 1666, before we explore the narrow lanes of 1700s London, including Dr. Johnson's House. Next, we get up close and personal with the epic St Paul's Cathedral on Ludgate Hill, before heading further down the Strand and into Cheapside. We check out Bank Junction, the Great Fire Monument, before ending our tour with a walk by the river Thames, discussing the two famous bridges: London Bridge and Tower Bridge.
