This Chole recipe replaces the oil-laden unhealthy Bhatura with a healthy beetroot and sesame roti.

Ingredients:

For chole:
1 tbsp oil
2 cups boiled chana
¾ cup boiled potato
2 tbsp garlic-ginger paste
2 tsp green chilli paste
1 cup diced tomato
1 tsp black salt
½ tsp dried mango powder or amchur powder

For roti:
½ cup wheat flour
½ tsp Chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp coriander powder
¼ tsp asafoetida
1 tbsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
¼ cup boiled and grated beetroot

Method:

For Chole:
1. In a pan add oil.
2. To that add the boiled potato and fry it for a few seconds.
3. Once cooked, transfer the potatoes in a separate plate.
4. In the same pan, add garlic ginger paste, green chilli paste and cook or a few minutes.
5. Add tomatoes, chickpea, salt and cooked potatoes.
6. Let it cook for a few minutes.

For roti:
1. Take wheat flour in a bowl.
2. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, asafoetida, sesame seeds, oil, salt, and beetroot paste and knead well to form a dough.
3. Roll the dough flat into rotis.
