Today, we're talking about the #SplitSquat. The split squat is a unilateral leg exercise that is fantastic for a variety of reasons.

NOTE: The split squat is NOT a lunge. Split squats involve a static foot position, while lunges involve stepping in whichever direction the lunge is performed.

Personally, I love split squats. They're so dynamic and can be used for a variety of reasons to grow and build strong legs.

The split squats trains multiple muscle groups and these groups can change slightly based on the adaptation being performed. Some of the prime muscles that the split squat will target include the quads, glutes, adductors, and hamstrings slightly.
