Bengaluru police order Phoenix Mall of Asia to stay shut for next 15 days; Sec 144 clamped

Bengaluru: With the road leading to the new Phoenix Mall of Asia in north Bengaluru being clogged with vehicles, police commissioner B Dayananda has ordered the authorities to restrict people from visiting the mall from December 31, 2023 to January 15, 2024 midnight. The mall, which is one of the largest in the city and has been attracting a lot of visitors, has turned out to be a major traffic pain-point — especially on the service road along the stretch that leads to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
