MIDI recording in MOTU Digital
MIDI recording in MOTU Digital Performer 9 for beginners. If you are new to Digital Performer it can be confusing to get started recording.
In this video, I start with an empty project and walk you through how to record midi using an external keyboard, record audio from an external Emulator II+ (mono) sampler.
Use the recorded midi to record another stereo track using an external Nord Modular (stereo synth). Then I will use the recorded midi to add the virtual synth MX4 which comes bundled with DP9.
Finally, I will use the recorded midi to add another stereo track using MOTU's Mach5 sample instrument. I will show you how to turn the two virtual instruments into audio tracks (print, freeze or bounce the track)
At the end, I will show you how to add effects to the recorded audio tracks both as inserts on a specific track and as an insert on an aux track and show you how to "bus" from the audio tracks to the aux track.
