Tu-154M - deep modernization of Tu-154B-2. Equipped with more economical Solovyov D-30KU-154-II turbofan engines. Coupled with improvements in the aerodynamic properties of the wing and fuselage, this provided a significant increase in fuel efficiency (by 30%) and made it possible to significantly increase the flight range. The three-slot flaps were replaced with two-slot flaps, but more efficient (the third flap link was made integral with the second and the maximum deflection angle was increased). A new 36-degree flap down position has been added to reduce landing noise. Production of this modification continued until 2012.
