In this video, I will explain the differences in absorption of short, lightweight fatty acid molecules into the fenestrated blood capillaries in the submucosa of the villi of the small intestine vs. absorption of heavy, long chains of fatty acids and monoglyceride molecules. Throughout the process, I will explain formation of micelle in the lumen of the small intestine, and formation of chylomicron inside the cytoplasm of the absorptive cells lining the small intestine, and absorption of chylomicron into the lacteal, and lymph from lacteal eventually drains into the intestinal trunk, thoracic duct, and venous system .
