I have had students asking me how to practice their shimmy at home. My advise is always to follow your own pace and you just need to keep doing it. If you got stuck, stop and restart. And I feel for a start, it's good to practice your shimmy by shifting weights on different legs, position, flat and on tippy toes. Also, try to shimmy only on a single leg. Practice both thigh and hip shimmy together, as you will need them both when you start layering.

Here's a simple shimmy drills focusing on shifting weights and also some simple arms movements to add some challenge to the drill. But, if you find the arms hard to follow, you may just do your own movements or simply ignore them altogether and just focus on your shimmy.
