‘Hardness’ is the ability to resist scratching and abrasion. The Moh’s scale of Hardness is the most commonly used scale to express hardness… but its commonly misunderstood! Gems with a hardness of 9 are nearly the same hardness as diamond, which have a hardness of 10 right? Noooooo! Let’s talk about it.
