In this Physics video in Hindi for Class 12 we explained the hydrogen emission spectrum with the help of Bohr's postulates. Here, we also derived a formula for the rydberg constant. This is a topic from Chapter 12 : 'Atoms' for Class 12 from NCERT.

Bohr's postulates :

1. An electron in an atom could revolve in certain stable orbits without the emission of radiant energy.
2. Electron revolves around the nucleus only in those orbits for which the angular momentum is some integral multiple of  h/2π.
3. An electron might make a transition from one of its specified non-radiating orbits to another of lower energy by emitting photon having energy equal to the energy difference between the initial and final states.
