This wonderful song has 2 levels of meaning. It is about what the Myanmars called Myetta ( which has no exact English word), meaning general loving kindness for all creatures and natural things. This is described by the song when he looks at the moon smiling,and the moon smiles back at him.
It has personal level when he tells his love not to frown, like the dark rain cloud which spoils the beauty, but smile like the moon and the stars.
